Untitled (2006)This is part of my year 12 art major work.
The whole major work includes the mannequin in the photo and 12 photos including 4 above.
The main idea of this piece was to visualise the existance of the violence towards women such as wife-bashing, rape and prostitution to name a few.
The missing body parts of the mannequin represents the unnecessary parts in women's body for those whom acts these violence upon women or see them as an object for sex.
The head of the mannequin, for example, is missing as brain which placed inside the head means intelligence and that is certainly not what those criminals are looking for in women.
The mannequin is made out of plaster and wire.
